There is no definitive answer to this question as all clients have a different experience with what feels comfotable for them. Everyone is different.
Counselling and therapy offer a safe, supportive space to explore whatever you're struggling with whether that's anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, past experiences, or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Therapy can help you understand your thoughts and emotions more clearly, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop healthier ways of coping and relating to yourself and others. It’s not just about resolving problems it’s also about deepening self-awareness, improving emotional well-being, and building a more fulfilling life, on your terms.
While therapy and coaching can sometimes feel similar both offer support, guidance, and a safe space for growth they serve different purposes:
Therapy focuses on healing and understanding. It’s designed to help you process emotions, explore past experiences, and work through challenges such as anxiety, depression or trauma. The goal is often to support emotional well-being, build coping skills, and create a stronger foundation for your mental health.
Coaching focuses on growth and action. It’s about setting goals, creating strategies, and building confidence to move forward. Coaching is less about healing the past and more about shaping the future helping you make clear decisions, break habits, or reach personal and professional milestones.
In short:
Therapy helps you heal and understand.
Coaching helps you grow and take action.
Both can be powerful and sometimes they can complement each other but the right fit depends on where you are in your journey and what you need most right now. Sophie can offer a hybrid approach depending on where the client is at within the process.
